Sloan
Residence & Paradise Valley Inn:
Originally designed as a 4,000 s.f. Northwest style log
accent home on 60 acres in the Idaho Rocky Mountains. This 5 bedroom
cedar home sits in a meadow on the rim of a plateau overlooking
the spectacular panoramic view of the Kootenai Valley, the Rockies,
and the town below. Inspired by the log structures of this region’s
national parks, the local log cabin vernacular, and the site’s
array of unforgettable beauty, the lodge was designed to provide
each room with a unique relationship to the outdoors. Extensive
windows capture and connect with the site’s natural beauty
while providing a strong sense of shelter and warmth with extensive
logwork and soaring cathedral ceilings. Later converted to a luxury
country inn lodge, it has generous decks and a log porch which connect
guests with the serenity of the site.
